Over the last year, the healthcare IT industry has seen tremendous growth: new business developments, new business opportunities, new students pursuing degrees in the field and professionals refocusing their career path into the health IT industry. There is little disagreement that the health IT industry will remain a driving force in the years to come.
Similarly, HL7 Standards has seen tremendous growth throughout the last year. We have almost doubled our readership and have witnessed an increased interest in the topics we cover, from Meaningful Use, to integration and even health IT social media.
In light of this growth, I’d like to take this moment to introduce the newest team member to the HL7 Standards team, Chad Johnson. Chad joins us with more than 10 years of experience working in healthcare communications. Some of his work has been featured in healthcare publications such as San Antonio Medicine, Radiologic Technology, Scanner and various Texas newspapers. Chad also has experience serving as managing editor for Radiologic Technology and NurseWeek. I believe he will add greatly to the content published on our site and we are delighted to have him on board.
We are very excited that Chad will step into the role of managing editor of HL7 Standards and will help facilitate the healthcare technology conversation here, as well as on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. In addition to blogging, Chad will coordinate guest bloggers and moderate the #HITsm tweet chats (now on Fridays at 11 a.m., CT.).
I would encourage you to welcome Chad in the comments section of this post, and if you use Twitter, you can say “hello” to him at @OchoTex.
Thank you again for your readership!
